This month, Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out in theaters. If you haven’t already seen the Star Wars series, you really should. No joke. You are missing out. It is one of those classics that you need to watch, even if only to understand the countless pop culture references. Some others include Jurassic Park (as you know is my favorite), Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, James Bond… The list goes on, but seriously, Star Wars might just be the most important.

Needless to say, with the upcoming movie, I knew these were going to be a thing. So now they are. I picked two of my favorite characters: Queen Amidala and R2-D2, and threw a storm trooper in the mix because, why not? I can’t wait to see the movie and I hope you all are just as excited as I am!

Queen Amidala was ridiculous. I’ve never been one for drawing/painting people, so it took forever. The main problem is that when you are painting on cookies and mess up, it is really hard to fix it without destroying the royal icing.

I've had a couple of questions about my process. When I decide on a cookie design, I will bake a few extra cookies in case something goes awry. In this case, I used the extras as rough drafts to help me map out the designs before painting the final cookies. The icing on this R2-D2 was also royally messed up (pun intended), so I didn’t feel as bad when I destroyed it.
