While searching for a dessert to make for Christmas Eve, I found a delicious looking gingerbread cake on Pinterest, featuring a little gingerbread house on top. Although it was cute and minimal, I wanted to make it my own. Looking back to the Delft gingerbread house I did a few years back, I considered just sticking a similar one on top of the cake. But being the lazy person that I am, the idea of having to stencil out the house to make sure all of the parts fit together was rather distressing and way too much effort. HA! Too much effort. I ended up making over 50 houses…

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. In the end, cutting the cake was the worst part, because we had to take most of the houses off to do so.
